Stansted Park is a big estate with a beautiful Edwardian Mansion at its heart. The wider estate has a garden centre, farm shop, and café where they do an excellent afternoon tea. Plus there is a light railway, a maze and gardens to explore. Throughout the summer there are events including the Summer Jamboree in July and open air theatre & music performances culminating at the end of the August with the Proms Spectacular. For those visiting in the winter months there is the Stansted House Christmas Fair, a big event featuring many artists and unusual gifts. Stay in our holiday cottages and enjoy snuggling up by a wood burning stove after the shopping is done.
We also enjoy taking walks through the Stansted Estate. There's a big area of woodland with wide open spaces perfect for picnics, frisbee and running around. There are many footpaths winding through the woods as well as wide tracks, it's predominately flat so is easy walking and there's plenty to enjoy without needing to walk too far. There are free car parks on the opposite side of the road to Stansted House for those using the woodland. .
